Pennies for Plastic

Thornton's Budgens of Crouch End operate a 'Pennies for Plastic Fund' which gives small grants to worthy causes within the Borough.

In this round Fairtrade Haringey was given £150. This will be used to buy London-wide Fairtrade stickers to go in shop windows, and Fairtrade contents for our picnic hamper which will be used when we visit local festivals and events as a means of showing just what wonderful Fairtrade products are available.

Poppy Pickard, Chair of Fairtrade Haringey went along to represent, and was photographed outside Budgen's with Action for Kids, Coleridge Primary School allotments group and Crouch End Festival. Andrew Thornton of Budgen's and Cllr David Winskill, one of the trustees of Pennies for Plastic we also in attendence.

We're very grateful for this grant as it enables us to further ourwork promoting fairtrade.
